Transfer Students

Saint Joseph College welcomes qualified students from other colleges during both the fall and spring semesters. Women who are continuing or returning to education have long been a part of the Saint Joseph College community. As a women's college, our goal is to assist women of all ages and stages to achieve their educational goals. Our size makes it possible to work closely with each student to develop the program that will best meet her unique needs.

Application Procedure

  • Submit an application ($50.00 application fee waived if submitted online).
  • Submit an official copy of all college, post-secondary school, and high school transcript(s).

  • New $8000 per year Phi Theta Kappa scholarship beginning Spring 2009!

Once you have completed the application process, you will be notified of the admissions decision on a "rolling" basis. Following acceptance, students will meet with an academic advisor and review the number of transfer credits. To indicate acceptance of the offer of admission, the applicant must complete the confirmation form that will accompany the acceptance letter and submit a non-refundable deposit of $250.00. This deposit will be credited toward the first semester bill.

Nursing applications are not reviewed on a rolling basis; specific deadlines do apply. Please see below for specific information for students interested in transferring to pursue a Nursing degree.

Matriculated full-time students are eligible for both need-based and merit-based financial assistance. For more specific details, please refer to the Student Financial Services section.

Articulation agreements have been established to provide information and guidelines to qualified students seeking to transfer from community colleges. Saint Joseph College currently has articulation agreements with the following schools:

Please note:

A transfer student must complete at least 45 credit hours of course work at Saint Joseph College. A minimum of 120 hours is required to receive a baccalaureate degree. Consult the transfer counselor for the exact academic requirements of specific departments. The last 24 credits for a degree must be completed at Saint Joseph College.

For students interested in Nursing: We are happy to hear you are interested in pursuing the completion of your Bachelor of Science in Nursing with us. The next semester for which we are accepting applications for those interested in transfer Nursing admission is Fall 2009. Space will be limited and competitive. If you meet our minimum admissions criteria, you should complete your application by February 15, meaning that your application, and all official high school and college/post-secondary transcripts are submitted by that date. After February 15, applications will be reviewed on a space available basis. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
